YoHRA’s Special Day at Ayi Mensah Basic School

Youth for Human Rights Africa (YoHRA) organized a special program at Ayi Mensah Basic School to celebrate International Human Rights Day. The day was filled with fun and learning.

The Public Relations Officer from YoHRA, Jerry Exornam Reagan, spoke to the pupils. He explained what YoHRA does and why it’s essential for them to know about their fundamental human rights. Knowing your rights is like having a superpower!

A special guest, Mr Francis Xavier Sosu, the Member of Parliament for Madina and a human rights advocate, came to talk to the pupils, too. He shared important things about their right to education, not being mistreated, and being equal before the law. The kids listened and learned a lot, especially the need to speak up when they see any violation of human rights.

The programme coordinator for YoHRA, Gideon Adjei-Mawutor, and Mr. Francis Xavier Sosu donated—books and sports items. The donation’s emphasis was to continue supporting the pupil’s education since these are fundamental human rights of every child.

The school’s headmaster expressed his gratitude and discussed how important it is for pupils to know about their rights. It was a great day full of learning and sharing.
