Hanna Gebrekristos is a Human Rights Activist and Ambassador. She currently volunteers in Ethiopian Young Lawyers Association as a project officer, Gojo Accommodation and Temporary Shelter for patients in need, Care Epilepsy Ethiopia as event organizer and Rotary club of Addis Ababa Arada as PR Director. She holds MA in Global Studies with Special Emphasis on Peace and Security in Africa, 2015 jointly awarded by Addis Ababa University and University of Leipzig. Hanna holds MA in Social Work from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She holds Post graduate certificate in International Trade and Development, from Arusha, Tanzania and BA Degree in Law from Addis Ababa University. Beyond having passion for Human Rights, child and women protection, she worked as an intern in Ethiopian Airlines (Industrial Relations Unit) in 2011 where her major role was to assist with clerical tasks in order to free the department's key staff to focus on strategic issues. Hanna had short assignments within the African Union Peace and security Division, Border Programme Conflict Management Unit in 2014 and Federal First Instance court in 2011. From November 2011 to August 2012, she worked in the Law Offices of Telaye Tegegne and Associates as an assistant lawyer. Hanna worked as Executive Assistant in Institute for Advanced Research (IAR) from April to August 2014 and managed the overall activities of the institute and liaised with similar research institutes. She was a Project Assistant in IGAD Office of the Special Envoys from August 2014 to December 2015 where she coordinated logistics and events management in day-to-day office operations as well as key summits and conferences on the South Sudan conflict. She was at the 13th Annual Human Rights Summit of the Youth For Human Rights International in New York where YoHRA was born and became a founding member to continue to pursue her Human Rights Activism.
